A small village called Feldheim, Germany, uses only ecological energy for energy supply. The village is located 70 kilometers from the capital.

Delegates from our country visited the German settlement in mid-October this year. Sergey Savchuk, head of the State Department of Energy Efficiency, and a group of his colleagues arrived in Feldheim to be acquainted with their energy supply features in order to gain experience for Ukraine.

The transition of the village to “green energy” was financially provide by Energiequelle GmbH, which acted as an investor.

The inhabitants of the city of Troenbritsen and the municipality of the settlement also actively participated in the project implementation.

The main power of the village of Feldheim is a wind power plant. Its capacity is 123 megawatts the station includes 55 windmills. According to expert estimates, WEEE provides around 250 million kilowatt-hours of electricity every year.

Another source of energy supply is a solar power plant with a power of 2.25 m megawatts. SES consists of thousands of solar panels and generates about 2700 megawatts of electricity per year. This amount of “green” energy is enough to meet the needs of about 6 hundred homes.

Also in the village was build a special accumulating station, which provides uninterrupted operation and maintenance of the frequency of the power network. This station has a capacity of 10 megawatts.

In addition, a biogas plant with a capacity of 526 kilowatts was install on the territory of Feldheim. It gives heaters and electricians the inhabitants of the village. Biogas plant works on animal wastes and silos.

As an auxiliary source of heat energy in the village, there is also a solid fuel boiler house, which operates thanks to the woodworking waste and put into operation in the winter. The newest boiler house provides the city with a decent amount of hot water and heating of dwellings.

The investor company has also taken care of the creation of private thermal and electric networks.

According to the head of the village, their settlement for the project was chose completely by accident. Not far from the village was a white wind park and SES built up, which led to the idea of ​​creating an independent power grid.

The villagers fully supported the project and were satisfied with the result for all 100%. After all, such an organization of energy supply to the village does not harm the environment and can save considerable savings for each particular family.

The inhabitants of the village invested in private funds for three thousand euros each. Now they pay for utility services by 30% less than before. In addition, residents of Feldheim have a guarantee that prices for electricity and heating will not increase, so the payback period of their investments will be reduce. In the country, on the contrary, the cost of energy and heat is constantly increasing.

The Head of the State Department of Energy Efficiency of Ukraine officially provided the invitation to the city of Troinbritsen (an energy independent settlement is part of it) to participate in the IX International Investment Business Forum “Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Industry”. This event is intend to demonstrate to the Ukrainian community the experience of other countries regarding the use of renewable energy sources. The importance of this event is that the majority of examples can theoretically be implement in the territory of our country.

November 10 in Kiev, environmental activists held an action near the walls of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. They called on the government to increase financing for energy efficiency measures, which includes warming housing and a significant reduction in the percentage of fossil fuel use.

Activists point out that for this it is necessary to increase funding to 1% of the state budget. In Bonn, Germany, delegates of civil associations, participants of the UN conference on climate change, COP23, supported Ukrainian activists.

Irina Stavchuk, leader of the social movement “Ekodiya”, said that the state program to support energy efficiency in the homes of Ukrainian citizens is a real chance to save money on paying heat energy, to live in optimal conditions. Moreover, this helps to reduce the dependency on imported gas and has a significant role in protecting the climate overall planet. That is why they require the Cabinet toallocate for energy efficiency programs at least 1% of the budget at all levels. On November 6, Bonn opened the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, COP23. It gathers multiple delegations from different countries to consider the possibilities of implementing the Paris Agreement, which will reduce the amount of emissions to the atmosphere.

Olesya Krock, the organizer of the Odessa school, which teaches optimized sorting of garbage and waste, asks residents of the city not to throw out packages of polyethylene, but send them for processing.

“Most often the plastic bag is operated within half an hour, but in the environment it is 100 years old.”

After passing the tests in Odessa, the program is planned to be expanded in 8 cities of the country where the departments of “KIMS” are located.

Now, the company-developer has already acquired two land plots under non-energy-dependent settlements. One of them is located in the Boryspil direction, the other – in Zhytomyr. Volodymyr Tarasov highlighted the fact that the inhabitants of the non-energy-dependent settlement will be fully equipped with all necessary communications, but will not pay for the provision of centralized services.

The head of the developer company, Kravtsov Anatoly, noted that the newest settlement would be located on more than 4500 hectares of land. The main idea of ​​building such type of settlements is preservation of nature and life without utility payments. At this stage of the project implementation, a master plan for the further development of a non-energy-dependent town has already been establish.

At present, ElectroUkraine Company is engaged in the construction of SES near the capital. The power of the solar power plant will be 100 megawatts.

Specialists estimated that the price for electricity produced from wood chips would be 35 percent less.

Representatives of the developer company report that the initial stage of the construction of the TPP is schedule for the beginning of March next year.

Under construction, the local authorities had allocated a land plot of almost 8 hectares. This area will be provide to the developer for rent for 25 years. Representatives of the Limited Liability Company “Power of Dubno” report that near the thermal power plant they are planning to build an enterprise that will produce bottled water. This power will also contribute to the local budget. In addition, the plant will provide jobs for residents of Dubno.

Investors plan to pay particular attention to modernizing the city’s energy-saving system.

Representatives of the developer company reported that by the end of 2017 a project would be implement, which would be bas on the ESCO mechanism. It will directly affect the seven educational institutions of Dubno. The project involves thermal modernization through insulation of buildings. According to preliminary calculations, the solar power plant will cost about 360,000 dollars. Subject to the introduction of SES in operation in 2018, it will pay off within seven years. Such calculations were make based on a “green” tariff (15 eurocents). After 2019, the cost of a kilowatt of electricity will be reduce to 12 eurocents.

The head of SkyFoll Energy also noted that from the point of view of earnings, this SES is not profitable, because significant costs only provide for installation.

The head of the company-builder admitted that the solar power plant will present new jobs to the residents of the city and will become an example of how additional sources of replenishment of the state treasury can be develop at already existing enterprises.

Andrey Ivanyuk also noted that the construction of a solar power plant is a very profitable event for the city itself. The land plot on which the water canal communications are currently idle is idle, it is impossible to erect something on it. In addition, installed there solar panels will replenish the local budget for 49 years.

Now, the final project of the SES is being finalize. The solar power plant is plan to putting into operation next year.

The agreement between the representatives of the community and the investor company was sign last week. According to the clauses of the agreement, the monetary contributions will be provide in several stages and will be direct to the development of the infrastructure. The contract also states that a thousand investment dollars will correspond to one megawatt of the capacity of the future wind power station.

At present, in the territory of the Zaporozhye region, the largest in the Soviet Union – Botievskaya operates. The wind power plant has a capacity of 200 megawatts. There are 65 turbines located on this site. Experts have estimated that Botievskaya VES has cost investors almost 340 million euros. It was pet into operation in 2014.
